The Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria has accredited the following nursing training institutions in Nigeria (NMCN).

 

Meaning of Nursing

Nursing is the autonomous and collaborative care of people of all ages, families, groups, and communities, in all settings, sick or well. Nursing encompasses the promotion of health, sickness prevention, and the care of the sick, disabled, and dying.

 

Important of Nursing

Nursing is important in the society today because they promote health, educate the public and patients on how to avoid injuries and illnesses, participate in rehabilitation, and provide care and support.

Number of Nursing Schools Presently in Nigeria

In Nigeria, there are now 290 nursing training institutions. Approved by the Council for Nursing, Midwifery, Post Basic Nursing, and Departments of Nursing with the Accreditation Status and Admission Quota On State Basis.

  3. EMBARGO ON STUDENTS’ INTAKE IS INDEFINITE UNTIL DEFICIENCIES ARE RECTIFIED AND RESOURCE VERIFICATION VISIT CONDUCTED AND DECISION TAKEN TO LIFT THE EMBARGO BY THE BOARD
  4. DENIED/WITHDRAWN ACCREDITATION STATUS IS INDEFINITE UNTIL DEFICIENCIES ARE RECTIFIED AND RE-ACCREDITATION VISIT CONDUCTED AND DECISION TAKEN BY THE BOARD
  5. THE ABOVE LIST IS SUBJECT TO PERIODIC
