You will need a National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent in Exit Level 3 or 4, depending on the institution, to qualify for this course. However, it is not so important that you take math and/or physics for BCur. You also need:
English (50-59%)
First Additional or Home Language (50-59%)
Four more subjects (50-59%)
Life direction (50-59%)
What is the Diploma in Nursing like?
You will cover the material covered in the BCur degree during this course. Less depth will be put into the task the shorter the course. You’ll study how to give nursing care, how to put your knowledge into practice as a nurse, how to recognize and handle minor illnesses, and how to take care of women’s reproductive health.
Higher Certificate in Auxiliary Nursing
This is a one-year certification program that will give you the knowledge and abilities you need to provide individuals working under the supervision of a nurse with a national diploma or degree with basic nursing care. You will be able to register as a Registered Nursing Auxiliary after earning your highest qualification.
What is the Admission Requirements for Higher Certificate in Auxiliary Nursing?

What is the Higher Certificate in Auxiliary Nursing like?
In this course, you will learn basic nursing theory, as well as how to organize, assess, deliver, and evaluate basic nursing care to both people and groups.
Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Nursing
This course is designed to enhance and enhance your knowledge of nursing and midwifery. During this course, you will specialize as a nurse or midwife (or acquaintance).
This course also lasts for one year and can be completed only after you have obtained a diploma or degree in nursing. Unlike other courses, this course is largely theoretical. To join such a course you must have completed:
Bachelor (or equivalent) or degree and comprehensive diploma in Nursing Sciences
Diplomas in Nursing and Midwifery
Advanced Diploma in Midwifery, Staff Nurse, and Advanced Diploma
You must also have some experience to apply for this course – excluding your community service year. You must have two years of experience as a professional nurse and/or midwife (including at least one year in the specialty field over the past five years).
What is the Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Nursing like?
This course is designed to teach you how to work as a clinically focused, well-informed, competent, and innovative nurse. By the end of this course, you will have mastered as a nurse or midwife/accountant and will be able to provide well-informed scientific care to your patients.
After your Qualification
Once you have qualified and registered with SANC, you can choose to work in any number of locations, but if you want to read more, you can pursue a Masters’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Nursing and enroll as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
There are two main categories of advanced practice nurses:
Clinical Nurse Professionals: Individuals with in-depth and specialized qualifications who work closely and collaboratively with other medical professionals.
Advanced Nurse Practitioner:
Note: A person who works in primary care – health assessment and diagnosis and treatment of diseases. In South Africa, advanced nurse practitioners are often referred to as primary health care nurses and can work as midwives, and psychiatric and pediatric nurses outside the hospital environment.
General Nursing Admission Requirements In South Africa
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Sciences (BCur)
The Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is usually a four-year-long course offered by most public universities in South Africa: #UCT, #WITS, Stellies (postgraduate only), #UP, #UWC, #NWU, #UKZN, #UNISA, etc. Degree. How is the course?
BCur generally prepares students to work in four specific areas:
General Nursing (working in hospitals and medical procedures)
Community Nursing
Psychological nursing
Midwife (Maternal and Child Care)

In the theoretical part, you will learn the theory of being a nurse and you will study the medical, biological, and natural sciences, psychological and social sciences, and pharmacology so that you have the knowledge necessary for effective and successful health care.
