How to Prepare an Enjoyable Rice and Stew: One of Nigeria’s most popular dishes is ‘Rice and Stew.’ So, we’ll go over the technique and what it takes to make a delicious Rice and Stew.

Rice and Stew is made using the following ingredients.
- 1Kg of Beef or chicken ( steam or roasted) or (4) Eggs
- 2 cubes of knorr maggi
- 1tsp of Hunger, Thyme, Meat spices and Curry (each)
- Tomatoes ( one medium size of tin tomato) or fresh tomatoes
- Half liters of Groundnut oil
- 2 medium onion bulbs
- Grounded or fresh pepper (two tsp)
- Salt to taste
- Five cups of Rice
How to Cook the White Rice
- Parboiled the rice for 20 minutes
- Wash the rice and return it to the fire with adequate water and salt to taste.
- Allow it to cook and then remove it from the fire when the water has evaporated and the grains are soft enough to eat.
How to Prepare Stew with Beef Step by Step Procedure
Preparation of beef
- Wash the pieces of meat
- Season with a pinch of salt to taste.
- Peel the outer covering off one medium bulbs of onions before slicing them into the pot.
- In the same pot, add a pound of fresh pepper OR 1 tsp of ground pepper.
- Add one (1) knorr cube of Maggi
- Using a spoon, mix the meat and the ingredients together.
- Place the pot on the fire and steam it for 20 minutes. Add a reasonable amount of water to the steam beef and cook it for 20 minutes.
- Before taking it down from the fire, give it a taste to see whether it’s done.
- When it’s done, take it off the fire, and cover it and keep and move on to prepare other items.
Preparation of pepper/onions
- Pepper: If using a fresh pepper, wash and pound or ground it.
- Onions: wash the onions and peel out the outer layer and slice it round, round into a plate.
Preparation of the tomatoes
- Open the tomatoes tin and turn the tomatoes paste into a plat plate.
If using a fresh tomatoes below is what to be done!
- Wash the tomatoes and use a blender to blend it thoroughly

If you don’t have a blender below is what to be done!
- Wash the tomatoes and slice them into smaller pieces in a pot using a kitchen knife and a chopping tool.
- Cover the pot and place it on the stove for 5 minutes once you’ve finished slicing the tomatoes into it.
- When the water in the tomatoes has evaporated, use a spoon to thoroughly flip the tomatoes, then remove it from the heat and turn it into a plate.

- Wash the pieces of chicken
