Nigerian Ambassador to Greece, Nimi Akinkugbe, Felt Special Walking Her Son down The Aisle On His Wedding Day (Photo/Videos)
Nimi Akinkugbe, Nigeria’s ambassador to Greece, recently uploaded a video of herself walking her son down the aisle on his wedding day.

Ms. Akinkugbe said she was honored when her son reached out to her before to his wedding day to ask her to guide him down the aisle in an Instagram post. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to accept his plea.
She wrote that she had posted a photo and videos on the internet;
“Traditionally, the Mother of the Groom has had a much less role than the Mother of the Bride. It’s normally at the couple’s discretion.
As a result, it was such a delight to get a nice message from my son on March 23rd, asking whether I would want to walk down the aisle with him! I’m used to the groom being accompanied by his best man, but I’ve never said yes so quickly!!
Being taken by my son to my front-row seat and then to his position ready to welcome his beloved Rekha was one of the most memorable events of my life!
My spouse and the bride’s mother trailed us closely behind. It’s a nice touch.
By God’s Grace, I walked with the assurance that his life partner, our lovely daughter Rekha, is ideal.
It was a no-brainer to choose music for our mother-son dance. @wizkidayo’s “Blessed”
I consider myself really fortunate, and I trust that God will continue to bless and protect them throughout their lives.
“In due order, we will celebrate them in the Nigerian style.”
