Police in Ogun arrested a man for raping a 20-year-old woman in a church.

Ajibola Akindele, 30, was detained by men from the Ogun State Police Command for raping a 20-year-old girl (name withheld) inside a church.
The suspect was apprehended after the victim’s mother reported to Lafenwa Divisional Headquarters on April 16, 2022, that she had sent her daughter to decorate a church with the suspect in the Ita Oshin region of Abeokuta.
When they arrived at the church, they were greeted by a group of female women who had come to sweep in preparation for the Sunday service. However, as soon as those women left after sweeping, the defendant took advantage of the fact that he was alone with the victim inside the church and forcedfully had illicit carnal knowledge of her.
Following the report, Kayode Shadrach, DPO Lafenwa Division, assigned detectives to track down the suspect and bring him to court.
The investigators arrived on the scene soon and detained the culprit, who later confessed to the crime.
